My Summer Reading
July 30, 2009
For summer reading this year I have also chosen animal farm along with the others below. I really enjoyed this book because of the conflicts all the animals went through, such as the shortage of food after Jones had left the rebuilding of the windmill twice, and the taking of vantage of the other animals by Napoleon and the pigs! I disagreed with Napoleon and the pigs tremendously because they said dishonest things about snowball so the animals wouldn’t listen to him and they would follow napoleon. They also would limit the other animal’s food and double there’s but they only did it because the other animals were too stupid to realize what they were doing! I really thought that it was an interesting twist at the end how the pigs were walking on two feet and were more or less becoming just like the humans!

For my summer Reading this year I have selected the book Of Mice and Men. This book is about two men named Lennie and George who travel together getting lobs. Lennie is a large man and can’t remember anything and likes to touch soft and smooth things. George on the other hand is small and smart he tends to keep Lennie in shape. They get a job and Lennie accidently killed a young lady by breaking her neck. George didn’t act mad but when Lennie turns his head he shot him!

For my summer reading I chose the play A Doll’s House. It was a good play, it was about a young woman and her family! Nora made a decision to forge her fathers signature to save her husbands life but she made a mistake by dating it after her father had died. The man that loaned her the money for the paper that she signed was going to get fired by her husband, so he threatened her that he would tell him everything if he lost his job! He lost his job and did exactly that and Nora’s husband Torvald became extremely made and Nora left the very same night!

For my summer reading this year I selected a book called The Night I Disappeared by Julie Reece Deaver it keep me entertained through ever page and as I read every word! It was about a girl named Jamie whose mother was a lawyer. When Jamie was fairly small her babysitter left her on a baseball field and she was kidnapped. After this she was so terrified she maid someone up who could protect her though all her troubles. Her whole lie she believed he was real and when doctors realized she was going insane that’s when Jamie realized he was never there to protect her she had protected herself!
